Community Guidelines

Everyday Mahj is a friendly place to play American mahjong. These guidelines explain what’s expected of everyone who plays, how to report a problem, and what we do when the rules are broken.

Last updated September 26, 2026

Who these guidelines apply to

They apply to everyone with an Everyday Mahj account, on the web and in our apps. Your username and profile photo appear on the leaderboard and on your player card, where other players can see them, so they need to follow these guidelines at all times.

Be kind and respectful

Treat other players the way you’d want to be treated at your own mahjong table. Don’t:

  • Harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone.

  • Post hateful content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic.

  • Encourage violence, self-harm or suicide.

Choose an appropriate username and photo

Your username and photo are what other players see, so keep them suitable for everyone. They must not:

  • Contain profanity, slurs, sexual or suggestive content, or graphic violence.

  • Impersonate another person, a public figure, or Everyday Mahj and its team (for example, names like “Admin” or “Support”).

  • Include personal information such as a phone number, email address or home address, whether it’s yours or someone else’s.

  • Advertise a product, service or website.

Usernames are checked against a filter, and profile photos are screened automatically before they appear. Passing these checks doesn’t guarantee that something is allowed, and we may still remove a username or photo that breaks these guidelines.

Play fair

The leaderboard only means something if everyone’s results are real. Don’t:

  • Use bots, scripts or other software to play for you or to gain an advantage.

  • Exploit bugs or glitches. If you find one, please tell us instead.

  • Create multiple accounts, or share an account, to manipulate the leaderboard.

No spam, scams or illegal activity

  • Don’t use Everyday Mahj to promote anything, or to ask other players for money or personal information.

  • Don’t try to access other players’ accounts or interfere with how Everyday Mahj works.

  • Don’t share anything that is illegal or that infringes on someone else’s rights.

  • We have zero tolerance for content that sexualizes minors. We remove it, permanently ban the account and report it to the appropriate authorities.

Reporting a player

If you see a username, photo or behavior that breaks these guidelines, please report it:

  1. Open the leaderboard and tap the player’s row to open their player card.

  2. Tap Report and choose the reason that fits best: an offensive name or photo, harassment or hateful behavior, cheating or unfair play, spam or a scam, or something else.

  3. Add any details that will help us understand what happened, then send the report.

Reports are anonymous, so the player you report won’t know who sent it. We review every report within 24 hours and take action when a report shows these guidelines were broken.

Blocking a player

You can block any player from their player card, and you can also block someone when you report them. Once you block a player, neither of you will see the other on the leaderboard, and neither of you can open the other’s player card.

To unblock someone, go to Profile › Account › Blocked players.

What happens when guidelines are broken

Depending on how serious a violation is and whether it has happened before, we may:

  • Remove or reset a username or profile photo.

  • Remove a player’s results from the leaderboard.

  • Temporarily suspend an account.

  • Permanently ban an account.

Serious violations, such as threats of violence or content that sexualizes minors, can lead to an immediate permanent ban and may be reported to law enforcement.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile › Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, profile photo and game history.
